W7BU’s second repeater is the ’76, operating on a frequency of 146.760 MHz, with an offset of -.600 MHz, and a PL tone of 118.8. It is located on Nicolai Mountain, approximately 3,000 feet above the Columbia River, approximately 20 miles east of Astoria. This repeater has wide coverage, and can be heard, if not always hit, from as far north as Olympia & Gig Harbor, Washington and as far south as Eugene, Oregon, and as far east as Mt. Hood, Oregon. The '76, in operation at its present site since 1961, is the longest operating repeater in the State of Oregon owned by the same organization, in the same location, with the same frequency.

BeachNet System. Click here for more pictures of that trip.
